Today we are going to talk about a famous architect who is from our land, Taiwan.

When you take a look at Taipei’s skyline, which building captures your sight immediately? That’s right, Taipei 101. I believe that Taipei 101 is not only a sightseeing point or a department store now, but also a symbol of Taipei. Just like the Statue of Liberty to ”big apple”. So who is the architect of 101?

C.Y.Lee, born in Guangzhou, receiving his degree in Nation Cheng Kung University. After his university school work, he went to New Jersey and study for his master degree.
Let’s watch some video about Taipei 101, about C.Y.Lee. There are 5 parts.
Since there are three or four chasms across the Taipei basin, it’s really difficult and amazing to build a skyscraper here. So the engineer team installed a Damper to stabilize the skyscraper in case any tiny earthquake.
Although there are some criticism about his design or behavior, we still can deny his contribution to our city and our memory.
